Riordan Grain Services was established by Jim Riordan in 1996 with 1 tipper truck transporting grain, fertiliser and other bulk commodities.
The business began to expand with transporting Fertiliser from the old Victorian Bulk Handlers (VBH) site at Lara, VIC, to NSW and back loading with grain to Geelong and Melbourne. The VBH site was soon purchased which proved an important addition to the business with silo and shed storage and office space.
Storing Malt barley for International Malting Company Australia (now ADM Malting, Geelong , Victoria) at Lara eventually grew to accumulating Malt barley, storage and transporting on a much larger scale and so the business grew in volumes and also extended into a grain trading business.
Container packing for export clients began in 2003, which in peak periods saw the Lara site receiving and packing grain 24 hours a day.
Today the business has many facets and operates as a fully integrated grain business with storage sites located throughout Victoria and New South Wales , a much larger transport fleet and more operational and office staff. There is continual exploration of opportunities to add benefits to the business and to all customers.
